Great service and very good food. The only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars was I was surprised by two dishes. One, the corn chowder/bisque my husband ordered was virtually flavorless. It was creamy and had delightful whole kernels, but they were the only bits of flavor in the bowl. I expected more. Two, the duck glaze was so overwhelming that the flavor of duck was lost. Understanding a lot of people don't care for the unique flavor wild game, I can see how this dish would be palatable by the majority, but for those who do enjoy game flavor this dish would be disappointing. Great atmosphere and beautiful views.
My daughter just returned from a year in London and was craving Indian food, so we stopped in here. OMG...so good! The restaurant staff is so kind and helpful! The food was outstanding! We tried four entrees and all were exceptional. We will be back. Often!
Such a sad holiday meal. The Top of the Rock is one of the most beautiful restaurants for a special occasions - soaring ceilings/fantastic view/intimate lighting - so we went for Christmas dinner. We paid $186 (no drinks), for two 3-course prime rib dinners. The portion size was pretty hilarious. We each got about 3/4 cup of overdressed salad with a few beet chunks, then about a half of a potato next to a super thin, fatty slice of prime rib followed with some dried out desserts. They could have done better.
Great restaurant, nice view if you go outside and great service. They offer heaters when available if it is cold outside. Very clean and upscale. Food cooked to perfection. Many flavorful meals decently priced.
The food was amazing, the service staff was amazing. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the outdoor heater partially exploding and singeing the hair off one of the waiters (was was fine, just lost a little hair) and they ran out of sodas. Otherwise, absolutely amazing! Definitely will go back.
